Stowaway & Unauthorized Access is a 60-minute self-paced maritime security refresher for mariners and shore personnel who support vessel access control, security monitoring, stowaway prevention, and response to unauthorized boarding. It connects access-control procedures, security/MARSEC levels, crew responsibilities, vessel search and sweep practices, safe discovery response, stowaway welfare, incident reporting, and Canadian operational scenarios into one practical course.
Developed with reference to applicable SOLAS Chapter XI-2, the ISPS Code, the FAL Convention and IMO stowaway guidance, STCW security requirements, and Canadian Marine Transportation Security Regulations, the course helps operators strengthen shipboard security awareness, improve SSP implementation, recognize access-control weaknesses earlier, respond safely and humanely to stowaway incidents, and support effective reporting and handover to competent authorities.
