Strengthen shipboard security through practical awareness, sound judgment, and effective use of the Ship Security Plan.
Canadian Ship Security Duties & Maritime Security Awareness is a self-paced course for seafarers with designated security responsibilities or who support them. It covers threat recognition, patrols, access control, authorized searches, incident reporting, Security/MARSEC levels, and protection of security-sensitive information.
With dedicated coverage of the St. Lawrence, Great Lakes/Seaway, and Canadian Arctic, the course provides practical, regionally relevant guidance for Canadian vessel operations while reinforcing the approved Ship Security Plan (SSP) and the limits of assigned authority.
