Alain Auclair holds a degree in sciences from Cégep de Rimouski and a project management certificate from George Washington University. He obtained his Transport Canada Officer of the Watch certificate in August 1985 and his Royal Canadian Navy Watch Officer qualification in November 1986. With over 40 years of experience in the maritime field, both within the Royal Canadian Navy and at the Institut maritime du Québec (IMQ), Alain Auclair is an expert in STCW and domestic program development, as well as maritime safety project management. Bilingual and highly qualified, he has held several leadership positions, notably as director of the IMQ Emergency Response Training Centre, and has contributed to the modernization of maritime safety across the country. His rigorous approach, deep knowledge of the naval environment, and commitment to quality make him an essential leader in the maritime safety sector.
